Mission
To embody diversity, inclusion, and change in the world around us by being leaders and creating a safe space, while seeking to expand our limits for the purpose of a multicultural sisterhood.
Our History
S. O. M. E., Sisters of Multicultural Excellence, started in April of 2016 as a small group of women that were interested in bringing a new Greek letter organization to Our Lady of the Lake University - San Antonio. In December of 2016, S. O. M. E. became an official interest group that would then move forward into later becoming and being renamed as the Alpha Pi Colony of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. on April 27th, 2017. In October 2017, Theta Nu Xi became an official Greek Letter Registered Student Organization at OLLU.
Girl Zone
Alpha Pi is honored to serve our community alongside our long-term service partner, the Martinez Street Women's Center - Girl Zone Mentorship Program.
As a sisterhood, we mentor young girls of color within disadvantaged communities and school districts throughout San Antonio, TX. We help guide them in developing the skills, knowledge, confidence and courage they need to consistently make informed life choices from a place of self-respect and self-determination.
We help Girl Zone Educators facilitate the program’s culturally relevant curriculum taught within a social justice framework aimed at encouraging academic excellence, nurturing high self-esteem, and supporting the healthy development of girls ages 9-14.
